The Farewell and Some Goodbyes

Elder Martin had his "farewell" talk in Sacrament Meeting on June 23, 2013 in the Rigby 10th Ward.  His talk was amazing and numerous family members and friends came to support him.  A luncheon was held and Grandpa and Grandma Smith's house afterward.  It was a PaRtY!  So many came to congratulate him and to say goodbye.  The line for food seemed never-ending.
Elder Martin's mom and his adopted "mommas":  Momma Lusk (Heidi), Momma Ritchie (Robyn), and Momma Nielsen (Stephanie).  These women have been such great influences on Tyler throughout his teen years and they are all mommas to some of his best friends.

Uncle Steve, Aunt Erin, Kole, Lyle Spain, Tiffany Spain, Abbey Spain
 Julie, Olivia, and Gabby Deroche

This Aunt is going to really miss him!
Elder Martin with Ben and Kamee Perrenoud.  Ben was one of Tyler's favorite Scout leaders and they are wonderful friends of our family.
Uncle Jared, Abbie, and Jansen saying farewell
 Bryan giving a squeeze!
 Aunt Mary and Jansen
Maybe Jansen will like him a little more when he comes home in two years!
Big hugs from Wyatt!  Kurtis in the background.
Kylee...maybe she'll have teeth by the time he comes home
Maybe Kurtis will have some teeth, too!
Big loves from Annie Mae.  Logan Miller (a cousin on the Miller side) is also serving in the France Paris mission.  He has been out a few months already.  Alisa, his little sister, is in the background.  She gave Elder Martin a big hug to pass to her brother when he seems him in France.
 Aunt Kara...the "favorite" one
Wyatt, Wade, and Kylee are going to be so big when he gets home!
Aly may be taller than him when he gets home
Elder Martin with his friend, Gabby Deroche.  They've been friends since birth.  She is leaving to serve in the California, San Bernadino Mission (Spanish speaking) in August
Justin and Julie Deroche have been like second parents to Tyler
Grandpa Smith was in charge of security for the 2013 Encampment the week that Tyler left.  They said their "see-ya laters" a few days before Tyler entered the MTC.
These three (Lane, Landon, and Addie) are going to be so big in two years!
Josh and Jill dropped by for a last-minute farewell
Aunt Jill was only 5 years old when Tyler was born...they literally have grown up together.
 Uncle Josh
 Big hugs for the missionary
 These twins LOVE Elder Martin
Slobbery kisses!

It was hard for Elder Martin to say goodbye to his family and friends, but through it all, he knew he would be seeing them again in two short years.  It will be fun to compare pictures when he gets home...we'll see if he has grown as much as the kids have while he's gone.
